14 Major Revampings for Alectris

February 22, 2023

Alectris takes on 14 major revamping projects in the first half of 2023

Renewable energy has been a rapidly growing sector in recent years and with this growth, the need for efficient and cost-effective maintenance of these assets has become critical.

Alectris provides a comprehensive maintenance solution to owners and operators of solar PV assets through their repowering and revamping services: two important methods aimed at increasing the performance and energy yield of existing solar plants.

What are the benefits of Repowering and Revamping?

Repowering is a process that is applied to existing plants and can be used to extend their life after the end of their initial design life, typically around 20-25 years. While, revamping is applied to PV plants that are underperforming and not meeting their original specifications.

Alectris has earned a reputation for being customer-centric and bringing extensive solar experience to realize high-performing solar assets. The services include an initial project analysis and recommendations, maintenance and technological upgrades, and the deployment of retrofit technologies to increase energy performance.

Specifically, this can include partial or complete replacement of modules or inverters, adjustments to supporting structures or electrical configurations, and replacing or upgrading balance of system (BOS) components. Another option is to add retrofit technologies, such as a retrofit coating or new software platforms, to enhance energy performance.

The upgrades may include the installation of energy storage systems, substitution of fixed structures with 1 axis trackers, inverter regeneration, and the deployment of ACTIS ERP software for full control and enhanced performance of the site.

The Year Ahead

Faced with an increase in demand, Alectris will complete 14 revamping projects in Italy over the next six months, and two new full EPC for major stakeholders involved in the solar power industry.

These projects will take place across several regions and will include 1 MW plants that range in age from 8-10 years old and will be aimed at boosting energy production overall.

This is a huge accomplishment for the team and has further solidified Alectris’s role as a trusted and effective maintenance provider.
