Role in U.S. Solar PV Trade Alliance includes Support of Upcoming Solar Asset and Finance Symposium and Ensures Alectris Contribution to Solar Asset Care Standardization Initiatives Globally

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – 2 June 2015: Alectris, a global service provider for the integrated care of solar photovoltaic (PV) energy assets, today announced it has joined the SunSpec Alliance, a global information standards trade alliance for the distributed energy industry. In addition to a membership role, Alectris has pledged its support and will participate in the SunSpec Solar Asset and Finance Symposium held with Intersolar NA in San Francisco, July 13 – 16, 2015.

The SunSpec Alliance is a trade alliance of solar and storage distributed energy industry participants, together pursuing information standards to enable “plug & play” system interoperability. SunSpec standards address many operational aspects of PV power plants from defining best practices to standardizing on residential, commercial, and utility-scale systems—thus reducing cost, promoting technology innovation, and accelerating industry growth.

Alectris Joins SunSpec Alliance“We are pleased to welcome Alectris to the SunSpec Alliance and look forward to their contributions to our upcoming Solar Asset Symposium,” said Tom Tansy, Chairman of the SunSpec Alliance, adding, “The global perspective the Alectris team brings will enhance our solar PV operations and maintenance standardization initiatives both here in the U.S. and abroad.”

“The SunSpec Alliance has been instrumental in driving the conversation and implementation of best practices in the solar PV asset care industry,” said Vassilis Papaeconomou, Managing Director, Alectris.

“It is the perfect time to join with them in these standardization efforts. Our team will now have the opportunity to contribute to industry risk mitigation and overall solar asset performance standards in the U.S. through SunSpec and our involvement with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) Solar PV O&M Committee, a joint Sandia National Labs/EPRI working group and the European Photovoltaic Industry Association (EPIA) solar O&M task force. It is a truly exciting time to see all these initiatives working toward the common goal of solar adoption as a critical world resource for renewable energy generation.”
