Orange Button Developer’s Conference

April 09, 2018

Laks Sampath, Alectris Country Manager for the US and LATAM, will speak at the Orange Button Developer’s Conference, April 19, 2018, to be held at the Hilton Garden Inn in Cupertino, California. He joins professionals working in several sectors of the industry to drive standardization and adoption of the Orange Button initiative.

Sampath will illustrate the pain points in the industry and speak about adopting the Orange Button Taxonomy. He covered siloed solar performance data, for example, as a widespread industry pain point at the recent Solar Asset Management North America event.  He has also participated on the SunSpec Alliance working group on Orange Button. The Alectris ACTIS Solar ERP platform IT team is working on the integration of the Orange Button taxonomy system into its software solution for the industry.

Started 18 months ago to drive down the high cost of Distributed Energy finance and data interchange, Orange Button 1.0 is now ready for full adoption.

The Orange Button Initiative is a public/private partnership funded by the U.S. Department of Energy Solar Energy Technologies Office and the more than 300 participating companies and 500 individuals who have given their time and expertise to build open data interchange standards for the Distributed Energy industry. Organizations that lead Orange Button development are the SunSpec Alliance, the Smart Energy Power Alliance, kWh Analytics, and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.
